SEEK Lego Team Presents to School Board

The SEEK Lego team did an excellent job of presenting to the School Board. They explained to the board about their Lego Robotic competition they were involved in and how they designed and programed their robot. Our team did an excellent job of presenting and sharing with the board. A special thanks goes out to the parents that supported the students and to Mrs. Anderson for sponsoring the team.

The Lego team is excited about getting to participate again next year at the competition; however, they explained to the board that they will have to get a new kind of robot to compete next year. The Lego robot they had for this year is out dated and will have to be replaced with a newer version. If you are interested in helping the team out with a donation to purchase a new robot you may contact Mrs. Anderson at Linton-Stockton Elementary (812)-847-6039.

Patton Deischer - Science Fair Bridge Stress Test Project

Patton was our Grand Champion Winner in our 4th, 5th and 6th Grade Science Fair competition this year. He built three different types of bridges and tested what bridge could hold the most weight. Check out his cool video below to see how the three bridges compared to each other.

Dive Into Reading Challenge

Mrs. Ball, Mrs. Sipes, Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. J. Irish all motivated their students in a special way to get them to read a lot of minutes during the P.T.O's Dive Into Reading Challenge. The top three readers with the most minutes got to put a pie in their teacher's face.

Math Bowl Moments

Our Math Bowl teams did a great Job in the regional competition in Bedford. Our 6th grade team won the region with 23 out of 28 questions answered correctly. Our 4th and 5th grade team placed 4th in their division. This is the second year in a row that LSE has won the regional competition.

Cirlce the State With Song

Selected students from our elementary choir participated in the “Circle the State With Song” choral festival at Lincoln High School in Vincennes on March 6. Schools from eighteen area schools sent their best singers to form a choir of approximately 220 students. After rehearsing state selected music with a guest clinician, the students performed a concert for their parents and friends at the end of the day. Students representing our school were: Madison Landis, Morgan Cox, Stacie Rock, Sarah King,
Madison Millick, Mikayla Lannan, Hunter House, Morgan Sparks, Allie Fogelsong, and Whitley Abney. Thanks to these students for their extra effort and to the parents for supporting them.

Magnetic fields are very powerful, but they work best on certain types of things. Iron responds very strongly to magnetism, and since steel contains a lot of iron, those paper clips will be easy for Magneto to control!
